What is the International Welcome Center?
The International Welcome Center (IWC) is a training/resource center for refugees and immigrants who are resettling in the Akron/Canton area. The purpose of the International Welcome Center (IWC) is to explain and show the love of Christ by providing services that help meet the unique needs of the foreign born while following all local and federal laws.

Legal Aid
Vital to cultural integration, refugees and immigrants need to be aware of state and federal laws, aid in maintaining compliance to regulations, and legal assistance to navigate the immigration process. Trained staff will guide them through the information and the necessary paperwork.
Life Skills
Life in America can be complicated even if a person is born here! Using the power of friendship, the International Welcome Center (IWC) Life Skills program coordinates informal mentoring opportunities between volunteers and clients to assist the foreign born with everyday skills needed for life in the Akron/Canton area. (Here are some of the programs being offered.)
Transportation
For many foreign born individuals and families resettling in the Akron/Canton area, transportation is a great challenge. The International Welcome Center (IWC) will provide transportation to job interviews, doctor appointments, legal consultations, BMV appointments, utilities set up, etc.
