About Us
The International Welcome Center (IWC) is a training center for refugees and immigrants who have come to the Akron/Canton area. Over 10,000 people (mostly from Bhutan, Nepal and the Democratic Republic of Congo) have settled in our communities and need assistance to become productive citizens. With some education and caring love, these families will become employees, tax paying contributors, and business owners. In the not too distant future, they will be integrated into our community and will extend the same grace and hospitality to others that was extended to them.
MISSION STATEMENT:
The International Welcome Center exists to empower the foreign-born in the greater Akron area in their pursuit of happiness. As representatives of Christ, we partner with them to legally navigate the immigration system and integrate into the community through the power of love, service, and friendship.

Legal AidVital to cultural integration, immigrants and refugees need to know state and federal laws and how to navigate the legal system in order to chart a path to citizenship. Staff experts will guide them through the information and paperwork process.

Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.
